When we were first discussing locations for Devin and Kelby’s engagement session, we tossed around the idea of the Nelson Atkins, Crossroads, Liberty Memorial, and a few other iconic KC spots. But we ultimately decided on the Liberty Memorial, and when we arrived there shortly after sunrise…well, the entire deck was closed for construction. So we quickly switched things up and headed to Nelson Atkins (which Devin was really wanting more in the first place, so that all worked out). I would say that things still worked out pretty well, and this is honestly one of my favorite spots in Kansas City for any kind of session – from engagement to wedding portraits, families and seniors – I’ve even done a newborn session here! Below are a few of my favorites from Devin and Kelby’s session. And if you’re doing photos at the Nelson Atkins, remember to utilize all sides of the museum because they each have something unique to offer!
