Last year, I got an email inquiry about a wedding in Indiana that basically said, ‘I love your photos, I have no idea where you are based, but I’m getting married and I’d love to see if you’re available.’ I WAS available, and I WAS willing to travel. I responded this, thinking that she would for sure go with someone closer, seeing as Evansville, Nashville, Indianapolis, and Louisville were all fairly large cities that were MUCH closer than Kansas City. But she came back and answered that they wanted to move forward with me., travel fees and all.
From the beginning, this wedding had my heart, because it meant so much to me that even though there would be photographers closer, they chose me. And then as we had phone calls and FaceTimes and emails, I realized how amazing this couple was, and I felt more and more lucky that they had chosen ME to photograph this wedding.
So the Friday night before the wedding, I drove through Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, and then Indiana to get to my hotel in Evansville, IN. And then when I woke up Saturday morning, I headed to Lynnville, IN, to head to the venue.
This venue was SO wonderful! There were two outdoor locations available for ceremonies. There’s an indoor reception location AND an outdoor reception space. There’s room for the bridal party to get ready the day of, and access to the space spans the whole weekend. Spots on location for photos include a BEAUTIFUL front porch, a carriage, a vintage truck, a pond, a balcony, and more. For inside spots, there’s a full wall of windows south-facing for the reception and reception events.
